Responsibilities
The Therapist is responsible for patient management; daily operations and stock take in the rehab centre.
- Handling case files regarding patient’s clinical status.
- New therapy management and treatment suggestions carried out with approval of the Professor.
- Splint expertice in both static and dynamic fabrication and adjustments is required.
- Carry out therapy sessions with patients and document thoroughly clinical symptoms of patients.
- Maintaining good personal hygiene and cleanliness in rehab centre is essential.
- To establish a good rapport with patients and colleagues is also a key factor.
- Open mindedness to comments and suggestions from the Professor and Principal Therapist for excellent management and desire to improve oneself through self study would be a positive quality.
Competencies
- Professionalism: Thorough knowledge in Hand and Upper extremity rehabilitation and splinting.
- Therapist should be well versed with therapy modalities such as ultrasound, TENS etc, and must know precaution, medications and contraindications for use and proper dosages to be administered for individual patients.
- Technology Awareness – Fully proficient computer skills and use of relevant software, e. g. word processing, power point.
- Teamwork – Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations and harmony in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity, including gender balance.
- Communications – Solid written and spoken communications skills, including the ability to draft standard memoranda and to articulate ideas in a clear, concise style.
- Ability to provide detailed explanations orally.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
A Diploma/University degree, in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy .
Work Experience
Candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in the service/medical industry. Knowledge of communication, press release contacts and publication editorials. Familiarity with private medical practice.
Languages
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of a second official language-Malay/Chinese would be an asset .
